Alternatively, pop into your local V/Line service agency in order to make a reservation and purchase a ticket.
Timetables often vary (depending upon what day it is), so sometimes it is a great idea to have a look at the different timetables before making your plans or appointments in Bendigo. Some towns in the southern mallee do not have many public transport options to Bendigo, however often a neighbouring town will have many more options, or an alternative timetable to get you home earlier in the day. You will notice upon your arrival in Bendigo that the Bendigo Station is fairly central, and is located adjacent to the Market Place shopping precinct, and only a short walk to the shopping mall or central business district. It is also the bus exchange for the city, where many local buses come and go.
Taxis Taxis are often available outside the Bendigo Station if you are unable to walk to your destination (once you arrive in Bendigo), otherwise you can book a taxi by telephoning 131 008. Wheelchair accessible taxis are available by telephoning 5444 1271 or 0409 524 796.
Local Bus Services There is a large local bus network in Bendigo that provides regular travel options around the city. Integrated Ticketing If you are travelling to Bendigo (return) on public transport then you will be able to access all local bus services for free whilst in Bendigo on that same day. If you have a one way train or bus ticket to Bendigo, then you can only access local bus services for free for one hour after arriving at the station. If you are driving to Bendigo, but you would prefer to use public transport to get around the city whilst there, then you will need to purchase a ticket from the Bendigo Railway Station. Medical Appointments If you are travelling for a medical appointment at the local hospitals, then buses run regularly to these (and other) destinations.
